Energy Efficiency Grants Available

Energy

Member utilities of WPPI Energy are working together to offer grants for electric energy efficiency improvements. All commercial and industrial power customers receiving electric service from a member of WPPI Energy are eligible to apply. To see if your utility is a member, click here.

The energy efficiency program grants are designed for projects that will reduce annual total energy consumption by 100,000 kilowatt-hours or reduce on-peak electric demand by at least 20 kilowatts from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. during the months of June, July, August, and September. It is a competitive bid process, and up to $200,000 of incentive funding is available. Applications are due September 24, 2021.

“We want to encourage any eligible customers to apply,” said Tom Westhoff, senior energy services manager with WPPI Energy. “Energy efficiency can cut down on the amount of electricity used, saving money and reducing our carbon footprint. This is a great opportunity to work together for everyone’s benefit.”

Past projects that have received funding through the energy efficiency program include ventilation upgrades, compressed air system upgrades, lighting upgrades, and proper pump and motor sizing. The program has been around since 2006, awarding over 100 grants for energy efficiency improvements during that time.
