If I Were a Lineworker Children’s Book
In 2020, WPPI Energy developed a children’s book for their 51 member utilities to implement locally in celebration of National Lineworker Appreciation Day. The purpose of this book is to:
- Educate youth in the community
- Build relationships with local schools
- Communicate the benefits of public power
…all while gaining some goodwill and publicity for the local utility!
About the Book: The illustrated children’s book follows the day in the life of a lineworker through a child’s imagination. The book provides examples of a how a lineworker helps the community it serves, ending with the child embracing their parent at the end of the day, who is an actual lineworker. Written and illustrated by WPPI staff, the book is recommended for elementary school aged children, but can be enjoyed by all!
