WPPI Energy Donates $500,000 to Local Communities

Member Utilities

COVID-19 has driven an increase in the level of help people need from their communities’ most vital support organizations. As a member-owned wholesale power supplier, WPPI Energy is designed to be there for the communities it serves.

In response to the pandemic, member utilities are allocating WPPI funds to assist local organizations in their communities. The new COVID-19 Community Recharge initiative will fund contributions totaling $500,000 to support relief efforts across the WPPI membership.

“Our members are invested in the health and well-being of their communities,” stated Mike Peters, CEO of WPPI Energy. “They know their communities best, and will use the funds to support their community’s most critical needs.”

To aid local relief efforts, WPPI member utilities will use the dollars to fund a variety of causes. This will range from refilling local food banks to supporting nonprofit organizations, sponsoring blood drives, sending care packages to essential workers, and assisting local families in need.

“Our members’ commitment to the people, businesses, and communities they serve goes beyond delivering safe and reliable energy,” said Peters. “They stand behind their communities in times of need, and WPPI is here to support them.”
