Directors elected L’Anse Village Manager Robert La Fave to the Executive Committee. La Fave filled the spot vacated by George Morrissey, who retired from Cuba City Light & Water that day. Morrissey served on the board for 12 years and for three years as a member of the Executive Committee.

The board also re-elected incumbents Maquoketa Municipal Electric Utility General Manager Chris Krogman, Hartford Utilities Director Brian Rhodes and Sun Prairie Utilities General Manager Jill Weiss to three-year terms.

The Executive Committee, elected from among the WPPI Board of Directors, provides oversight and guidance for the organization’s operations and programs.
During its Sept. 24 meeting, the Executive Committee re-elected officers for the coming year, including:

  • Chair – Jim Stawicki of Sturgeon Bay Utilities
  • Vice chair and chair of the Personnel Committee – Weiss of Sun Prairie Utilities
  • Treasurer and chair of the Finance & Audit Committee – Melanie Krause of Menasha Utilities
  • Secretary – Casey Engebretson of Black River Falls Municipal Utilities

Krause was first elected treasurer in April after former Waunakee Utilities General Manager Tim Herlitzka announced his retirement.

Through WPPI, members share resources, jointly own generation and transmission assets, and collaborate on initiatives that keep costs down while providing responsible and reliable electricity to their communities.
