WPPI Energy member utilities celebrate Smart Energy Provider Week

Member Utilities

American Public Power Association’s Smart Energy Provider Week, Feb. 9-13, highlights how public utility programs make a positive impact on communities through energy efficiency, sustainability and keeping costs down as part of everyday operations.

The designation lasts three years. Of the 125 utilities throughout the country recognized by APPA as a Smart Energy Provider, WPPI member utilities make up nearly a quarter of that total.

Utilities with this designation are nationally recognized. The designation process evaluates their work against best industry practices, providing a litmus test for current work with programs addressing topics such as distributed energy resources, communication and customer experience. There is also guidance for potential improvements.
