NorthStar: mCare 6 Regional Trainings

Technology Suite

mCare6, the newest version of the mobile service order processing unit, will be available starting mid-October. Following months of testing, WPPI is ready to proceed by offering regional training sessions. All utilities currently using mCare must attend one of the training sessions as the current version of mCare will no longer be available beginning January 1, 2024.

WPPI will use the Train-the-Trainer approach. Each utility should send up to four (4) users (i.e., 1-office, 1-electric, & 1-water) to a training location of their choice. They will spend the day with WPPI staff learning the updated program. Upon completion, the utility staff will return to their respective utilities and train the remainder of their staff on the software.

Training events will be held at the following locations: WPPI Energy, Waunakee, Hustisford, Hartford, Gladstone, Black River Falls, Sturgeon Bay, Menasha, and Maquoketa. Registration for each location will close 1 week prior to the designated training.

Required Equipment for Training (utility supplied):

  • iPad/tablet (field staff)
  • laptop (office staff) for access to NorthStar and mCare

Note: If the office user does not have a laptop available for training, please indicate on the registration form. WPPI has a limited number of laptops and will provide one for those indicated.

Visit the WPPI Energy Events calendar for available dates and registration in October, November, and December.
