JALC: Power Supply (virtual)

Joint Action Leadership Certification Program (JALC)
A new educational program for member utility leaders to become more acclimated to WPPI Energy, the joint action agency in which their utilities are member-owners. Join us to learn more about how our valuable partnership directly benefits your utility and community. The JALC is open to all member utility leaders and is geared toward utility managers and management staff. The JALC plus Board Certification is for those on the WPPI board as directors and alternates.

The session will explore the functions occurring within each of the three segments of the power supply department: planning, power supply resources and operations. At the last session, program participants also identified related topics in which to take a “deeper dive.” In response, members of the power supply department will cover the following:

• How WPPI develops its power supply assumptions for the annual budget and longer term
• Energy storage technology
• Financial mechanisms WPPI uses to manage the differences in MISO energy prices between its load and resources
