Election Results: WPPI Energy Executive Committee Members and Officers

An Update from WPPI

Following two elections held by the membership in September, the Executive Committee (EC) of WPPI Energy’s Board of Directors includes two new representatives and one re-elected incumbent, and the slate of EC officers will continue to serve with no changes.

By a vote of the majority of the board on September 16, Menasha Utilities General Manager Melanie Krause and Waupun Utilities General Manager Steve Brooks were newly elected to the EC, and Black River Falls Municipal Utilities General Manager Casey Engebretson was re-elected. All will serve three-year terms on the 11-member group, which oversees WPPI operations and programs.

During its subsequent meeting on September 22, the EC unanimously re-elected the following individuals to one-year terms as officers:

  • Sturgeon Bay Utilities General Manager Jim Stawicki – Chair
  • City of Boscobel Director of Public Works Mike Reynolds – Vice Chair
  • Waunakee Utilities General Manager Tim Herlitzka – Treasurer
  • Casey Engebretson – Secretary

Under the guidance of the EC and the Board of Directors, WPPI maintains competitive wholesale electric rates while continuing to diversify its resource portfolio and reduce CO2 emissions associated with supplying power for member communities.

“Nothing is more important to the continued success of our member-owned, member-governed joint action agency than the active engagement of our member utility leaders,” says WPPI President and CEO Mike Peters. “We thank each of these individuals, and all who volunteer their time on the EC, for their commitment and dedication to the well-being of the 51 communities WPPI serves.”
