Concerned About Paying Your Utility Bill?

Member Utilities

Funding available for utility customers in need.

Members of WPPI Energy are encouraging their customers who may be concerned about being able to pay their bill to apply for Energy Assistance. Funding is available to help income-qualified residential customers pay their electric bills, including those whose employment has been impacted by the COVID-19 public health emergency.

Customers are encouraged to apply by clicking here and finding the contact for their county. For the quickest assistance, customers should call their Energy Assistance program contact to get their application in before funds run out.

“The current health emergency has resulted in a lot of job loss,” said Anna Stieve, Energy Services Representative for WPPI Energy. “By sharing this information, our members are trying to help alleviate some of the financial stress in their communities. They live and work in the communities they serve, and they want to know their neighbors are getting the help they need.”

In Wisconsin, energy assistance eligibility requirements were adjusted to more efficiently assist families impacted by COVID-19 and are now based on the household’s previous month of income, rather than the former requirement of the previous three-month’s income. Energy Assistance provides bill pay support for heating costs, electric costs, and energy crises.

Edit: The deadline to apply by May 15, 2020 was eliminated. Updated to reflect that there is no longer a firm deadline.
