The Village of Waunakee (population 16,387) is excited to announce the recruitment for a GIS and Planning Specialist. This newly created position is primarily responsible for the development, maintenance, and analysis of the municipality’s geographic information system (GIS) data. This position supports various municipal departments by providing spatial data analysis, map creation, and technical assistance for planning, public works, emergency services, and other initiatives. This position also provides support in the areas of planning and development for the Village’s current and long-range planning goals, objectives, and initiatives.
Areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to: comprehensive planning, neighborhood planning, development review, conducting research and special studies, interpreting land use codes, and reviewing amendments to the municipal code for conformance with the Comprehensive Plan.
The Village offers excellent benefits, a hiring wage between $27.98 to $32.45 (DOQ), a starting vacation allotment of 120 hours, participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System, and paid parental leave.
