Oconomowoc Utilities – Water Utility Operator

The City of Oconomowoc is currently seeking a Water Utility Operator.  This position is responsible for the daily operations, maintenance, and infrastructure needs of the City’s Water Distribution System.

Requirements: 

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Water and/or wastewater-related field experience required, preferably municipal setting.
• Associate degree in a water-related program or equivalent education preferred.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DNR Grade 1 Groundwater, Distribution, and Iron Removal Operators License within one year of hire.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Cross Connection and Backflow Prevention Certification within two years of hire.
• Any equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Special Requirements

• Must obtain and maintain a valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL, Class A, B, C) from the State of Wisconsin within one year of hire. Class A, B, C.
• Must be able to report to work on time.
• On-call weekend rotation required.

• Must occasionally work weekends and holidays and respond to emergency call-ins, work as needed with little or advanced notice.
• Must Obtain CPR/First Aid certification within six months of hire.

Competitive Wages and Benefits;

$28.24/hr. to $34.74/hr., with future ability to make up to $39.08, depending upon experience with excellent benefits including Wisconsin Retirement System pension.
