This high-level engineering role is responsible for the planning, design, and management of critical infrastructure systems, including electric, water, and wastewater utilities. The Senior Utility Engineer provides technical expertise, oversees complex utility projects, and ensures compliance with regulatory standards while delivering reliable services to our community.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical or civil engineering, experience in utility design and construction, and proficiency with AutoCAD and related engineering software. In addition to technical responsibilities, this position supervises utility engineering staff, manages budgets and work orders, and collaborates with developers, contractors, and city departments to coordinate projects. Qualifications:
- Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Electric Engineering (BSEE) degree or Civil Engineering Degree with electric engineering emphasis (electrical training and electrical utility experience) required. Electric Engineering (BSEE) degree preferred.
- Five years of utility design experience with two years of supervisory experience.
- PE preferred.
Compensation:
$50.90 – $65.44 per hour, based on experience, plus competitive benefits including Wisconsin Retirement System enrollment and ETF health insurance.
