Engineer Intern – Oconomowoc Utilities

The Oconomowoc Utility Department is seeking an ambitious Engineering Intern for summer 2025. This position offers a valuable learning and working opportunity for engineering students who wish to gain hands-on experience in civil or electrical engineering, with a focus on municipal water, wastewater, and electrical utilities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in various engineering projects related to municipal water, wastewater, and electrical utilities.
• Collaborate with experienced PE engineers and receive ongoing mentoring.
• Participate in fieldwork and site inspections as needed.

Compensation: $16.50/hr.

Qualifications:

• Preferred candidates are students pursuing a degree in civil or electrical engineering.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for work use are required.
• Must possess composite or steel toe footwear to work in field when performing inspections.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Internship Details:

• Expected start date: Mid-May 2025.
• Start and end dates will be determined based on the student’s school schedule when feasible.
• No holidays, evenings, or weekends.
• Option to return for next year’s summer internship with good performance and approval.
