Business customers value local utility service

Survey results from the businesses they serve once again ranked WPPI Energy member utilities among the highest overall in satisfaction. Together, the utilities were rated second, outranking other larger utilities.
“These results show WPPI members are effective in providing area businesses what they need,” said Kelly Davis, director of energy services for WPPI Energy. “Our member utilities work diligently to ensure businesses can keep their facilities running efficiently.”
A recent survey of small and midsize businesses based in member service areas found that the utilities delivered high value overall and achieved even higher satisfaction ratings for customer service.
Survey results also showed respondents feel their locally owned utility understands the needs and challenges of their business. There was also positive feedback about utility staff, citing them as knowledgeable and easy to contact when needed.
Respondents said their utility is a trusted asset that provides reliable energy to their business.
WPPI member utilities exceeded the average response in ease of interaction between business customers and utility staff when compared to other utilities, from making a bill payment to learning about programs and services or an upcoming electricity rate cost change.
Businesses served by WPPI member utilities also ranked higher than average for their energy savings goals and interest in strategic energy management programs, EV services, and lighting, building and equipment efficiency programs.
“Small and midsize businesses in WPPI member communities can count on receiving support from their locally owned utility, where staff work hard to control costs while providing reliable electricity for their hometown business,” Davis said.
