Planning Analyst

If so, WPPI Energy is seeking an individual like you to assist our Power Supply Planning area with its core functions of load forecasting, budget forecasts, and power supply resource evaluation. You will work both independently and collaboratively and work on projects that have both near and long-term deadlines. No experience in the electric industry is needed. Besides the desire to work at a great company and be part of making our member communities thrive, as a member of the planning team responsible for WPPI Energy’s long-term power supply needs, you will apply your full range of skills to:
- Develop statistical models to project WPPI Energy’s long term electricity needs.
- Manage WPPI Energy’s participation in MISO’s capacity auction.
- Assist with development of WPPI Energy’s annual budget forecasts.
- Assist with power supply resource evaluations.
- Represent WPPI Energy’s interest at capacity related MISO stakeholder meetings.
- Assist with responding to a variety of data requests.
Qualified candidates will preferably have:
- A bachelor’s degree in a field such as economics, statistics, mathematics, or business.
- Experience programming in SAS (not a requirement, training available).
Starting Salary:
- $80,000 – $95,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
