Electric Rate Analyst

If so, WPPI Energy is seeking an individual like you to join our Rates area as an Electric Rate Analyst I, supporting its core function of developing and analyzing retail electricity rates for our 51 member communities. You will work both independently and collaboratively on projects that have both short-and long-term deadlines. No experience in the electric industry is needed and ample training will be provided.

Besides the desire to work at a great company and be part of making our member communities thrive, as a member of the Rates team, you will apply your full range of skills to:
- Facilitate electric cost-of-service studies, revenue requirement studies and rate design on behalf of WPPI Energy members.
- Represent members’ interest in regulatory (Public Service Commission – PSC) electric rate hearings.
- Assist in the development of alternative and advanced retail electric rates.
- Maintain effective business relationships and communication with member staff, PSC staff, and other stakeholders.
- Develop financial benchmarking studies comparing financial ratios of member utilities to other similar-sized municipal utilities.
- Develop retail rate benchmarking studies that compare rate initiatives implemented by the member and the overall membership.
- Assist with responses to a variety of data requests.
Qualified candidates will preferably have:
- A bachelor’s degree, or associate degree with three-years’ work experience, in a field such as economics, engineering, mathematics, or business.
- Strong mathematical aptitude, attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication skills, a customer service mindset, and a willingness to learn and contribute wherever possible.
Starting Salary:
- 60,000 – $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
