Members Launch Updated Websites

Twenty-one WPPI Energy member utilities recently launched updated versions of their websites.

The updated websites have several new features meant to improve the user experience for site visitors. These include easier-to-use site navigation, with clearer dropdown menus and quick links to help customers easily find the information they need.

The websites were re-designed to reflect the unique local character of the communities WPPI Energy member utilities serve. Each website prominently features images of local landmarks, natural scenery and community events. There is also a section where customers can find information about local events, utility and community news, energy efficiency tips, programs offered by the utility, and more.

The updates in structure and design also come with an update in technology. The new websites feature scrolling banner images, clickable icons that redirect visitors to frequently accessed areas of the website, and links to social media accounts. The websites have video capabilities, and are optimized for viewing on a computer monitor, cell phone or tablet.

Steve Lightbourn, Manager of Marketing Programs at WPPI Energy, worked with members to update their websites.

“Our members realize some customers prefer to interact with them online,” he says. “They want their websites to provide customers with everything they need, quickly and easily, while also representing the utility’s value and connection to the local community.”
