Six WPPI Energy member utilities earned the American Public Power Association (APPA)’s nationally-recognized Reliable Public Power Provider (RP3®) designation. The utilities were recognized April 30 at APPA’s annual Engineering & Operations Technical Conference in Raleigh, N.C. The designations are as follows:
Diamond Level: Oconomowoc Utilities, City Utilities of Richland Center, Two Rivers Water & Light
Platinum Level: Evansville Water & Light, River Falls Municipal Utilities, Sun Prairie Utilities
RP3 distinguishes utilities that maintain the highest standards of reliability, safety, workforce development and system improvement. Criteria include sound business practices and a utility-wide commitment to the safe and reliable delivery of electricity. The WPPI Energy member utilities recognized this year join more than 240 public power utilities nationwide that hold the RP3 designation.
“Safety and reliability are the top priorities for our membership,” said WPPI Energy President and CEO Mike Peters. “Every day, our member utilities demonstrate their commitment to safely and efficiently providing the power on which their customers rely.”
Four additional WPPI Energy members hold RP3 designations that are still current under the three-year term: Kaukauna Utilities (Diamond, 2017), Stoughton Utilities (Diamond, 2017), Menasha Utilities (Platinum, 2017), Cedarburg Light & Water Utility (Gold, 2016).
