Energy Services Representative Sun Prairie, WI

WPPI Energy is seeking a customer-focused, technically-adept professional to manage the delivery of utility services, customer programs and marketing initiatives for the public power communities of Algoma and Sturgeon Bay in beautiful Door County, Wisconsin.

As part of a strong team of engineering, energy services, account management and marketing professionals, you will foster and manage important customer and community relationships – including residential, commercial, industrial, school and municipal energy users. You will utilize excellent interpersonal skills to form constructive business relationships and to communicate the value that public power brings to the community. You will also utilize strong analytical skills to educate electric customers on where they use (and waste) energy, and apply your problem solving abilities to find ways to control their electric costs.

Qualified candidates will preferably have a four-year degree in a technical field such as natural or environmental sciences, engineering, or applied mathematics, as well as a strong interest in energy efficiency and renewable energy. Qualified candidates will also possess excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication skills.  Customer service experience and a record of active community involvement is also preferred.

Depending on background and experience, the successful candidate will participate in a one to two-month training program based in our office and operations facility in Sun Prairie before relocating to the utility offices in Algoma and Sturgeon Bay.

Attorney (Part-Time) Sun Prairie, WI

WPPI Energy, a Sun Prairie-based municipal electric company, seeks an attorney with at least three years of experience to work closely with in-house legal staff and various business units. This is a part-time position, approximately 20 hours per week.

This position provides internal legal support to all corporate areas and provides legal advice on policy and strategic issues.

The ideal candidate will have contract and general business law experience and the ability to handle a diverse array of company legal matters. Excellent analytical, written and oral skills are required. Knowledge of the electric industry is a plus, but is not a requirement.

Business Systems Analyst / CIS Support Analyst - Metering, Billing, and Customer Care Sun Prairie, WI

WPPI Energy is seeking a customer-focused, technically-adept professional to serve our member utilities and their customers.  As a Customer Information Systems (CIS) Support Analyst at WPPI Energy you will solve meaningful, complex problems in utility billing. As part of the Business and Technology Solutions team, you will directly impact the way customer-owned utilities care for their customers. The utility industry is rapidly changing and as part of the team you will work with utilities to creatively solve complex problems to meet changing needs. 

Your technical skills will be vital to your success. With the help of our training, you will learn how to efficiently utilize customer care, metering, and billing software to meet the challenges faced by utilities. You'll learn the details of how and why the software works the way it does and use this knowledge to solve complex problems and determine the best solutions. You will be responsible for the continued success of several utilities, guiding them and making recommendations to meet their goals, ensuring that they realize the full potential of the software. You will build relationships with utilities during calls and onsite trips. Utilities will rely on you as their technical expert, improving efficiency for utilities and service to customers. 
               
Qualified candidates will preferably have a four-year degree in Business Administration, Accounting, MIS/CIS, Economics or other related field.  Qualified candidates will also possess excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication skills.  This position is located out of our Sun Prairie, WI office and relocation to the Greater Madison area is required.

Application Developer Sun Prairie, WI

WPPI Energy is seeking an application developer to design, develop, and support the applications and reports used by WPPI Energy staff.  This is an excellent opportunity to implement high-visibility applications, work on all aspects of application development, administer application databases, and use your skills in a versatile role using a wide spectrum of technologies and tools. 

What you will do in this role:

  • Design, develop, and maintain dynamic web sites using ASP.NET and additional reporting tools.
  • Design, develop, and maintain .NET applications
  • Write and review SQL Queries, Stored Procedures, and Triggers.
  • Write Microsoft SSIS packages to facilitate ETL data processes
  • Document process and program flow.

Qualified candidates will possess the following education, skills and experience

  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field  
  • Solid understanding of Transact-SQL, database tables, and relationships
  • Experience with C# and ASP.NET
  • Javascript and AngularJS experience a plus
  • Experience with Microsoft SSIS package development
  • Ability to effectively communicate (written & verbal) to various teams (technical & non-technical) within the organization
  • Experience working independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
