The tasks of this position include the collection of data, entry and analysis of billing data, computing bills, and maintaining databases. The ideal candidate will be highly motivated, detail‐oriented, and possess strong analytical and organizational skills. Applicants must be experienced in the use of spreadsheet and word processing software. Minimum qualifications include a two‐year degree in mathematics, accounting, statistics or other relevant education and/or work experience.

Business Solutions - Support and Training Team Member  Sun Prairie, WI


WPPI Energy is seeking a customer-focused, business-oriented professional to serve our member utilities and their customers. As a member of the Business Solutions – Support and Training team at WPPI Energy, you will solve meaningful, complex problems in utility billing as well as directly impact the way customer-owned utilities care for their customers.

Responsibilities

  • With the help of our training, you will learn how to efficiently utilize customer care, metering, and billing software to meet the challenges faced by utilities.
  • You'll learn the details of how and why the software works the way it does and use this knowledge to solve complex problems and determine the best solutions.
  • You will be responsible for the continued success of several utilities, guiding them and making recommendations to meet their goals, ensuring that they realize the full potential of the software.
  • You will build relationships with utilities during calls and onsite trips. Utilities will rely on you as their technical expert, improving efficiency for utilities and service to customers.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, MIS/CIS, Economics or other related field is preferred. Candidates with Certifications and/or Associate’s Degrees in addition to equivalent experience will be considered.

  • This position is located out of our Sun Prairie, WI office and relocation to the Greater Madison area is required.
  • Ability to travel as-needed; periodic in-state and regional travel is required. This includes day trips as well as occasional overnight trips.

As part of a strong team of engineering, energy services, account management and marketing professionals, you will foster and manage important customer and community relationships – including residential, commercial, industrial, school and municipal energy users. You will utilize strong interpersonal skills to form constructive business relationships and to communicate the value that a locally‐owned, not‐for‐profit utility brings to the community. You will also utilize strong analytical skills to educate electric customers on where they use (and waste) energy, and apply your problem solving abilities to find ways to control their electric costs.

Qualified candidates will preferably have a four‐year degree in a technical field such as natural or environmental sciences, engineering, or applied mathematics, as well as a strong interest in energy efficiency and renewable energy. Qualified candidates will also possess excellent interpersonal skills and strong communication skills. Customer service experience and a record of active community involvement is a plus.

Depending on background and experience, the successful candidate will participate in a one to two‐month training program based in our office and operations facility in Sun Prairie before relocating to the utility offices in New Holstein, Plymouth and Two Rivers.
